AbOut the Artist

I'm Molly, and I'm a painter located in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina. My love of art started before I can remember, but my passion really took off when I was introduced to oil paint. I've been making art professionally since 2018.

I was lucky enough to have a truly inspiring high school art teacher that helped strengthen my knowledge of drawing fundamentals through charcoal, graphite, and chalk pastel. I participated in several street chalk art competitions before I graduated including the Kayenta Street Painting Festival in Ivin's, UT. My senior year, one of my chalk pastel pieces was selected to be displayed in the Springville Utah State Art Show where it eventually sold.

Following high school, I went on to earn my Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in Medical Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I was lucky to take a few drawing classes here and there when I got the chance.

After finishing my degree, I finally had time to devote myself to my art again. I started by teaching myself with acrylic paint. When I mustered up the courage to attempt oil, I immediately fell in love. To me, oil painting feels like home. There is something so special about the expressiveness and simplicity of oil paint, and I am honored to have the chance to capture that in my commissions and pieces.

I am inspired by the breathtaking mountains I live in, the joy of the people and animals that surround me, and the charm of everyday life. I would absolutely love the opportunity for my art to be cherished in your home!
